Super Therm®
Super Therm®: Longest Lasting Solar Heat Reflective Paint
Super Therm® is a ceramic, water-based, heat reflective paint and thermal barrier designed to block solar heat, heat load, moisture, and air from reaching a surface. It can significantly reduce surface temperatures making it an ideal solution for many applications. Super Therm® is a combination of high performance aliphatic urethanes, elastomeric acrylics, and resin additives which produces a tough yet flexible long-lasting insulating paint.
You can use Super Therm® to insulate and reduce heat for: metal warehouses or storage buildings, asphalt shingle and metal roofs, concrete walls, HVAC housings, ducts, air intakes, shipping containers, container homes, quonset huts, sheds, refrigerated trucks, animal trailers, condensation reduction, and more.
*Using an infrared camera, this application shows over a 70°F surface temperature reduction between adjacent air intakes with the unit on the right coated with Super Therm®. These pictures were taken in August with an ambient air temperature of about 85°F at a facility in Illinois.
NOTE: Laboratory and Field project results as stated here may vary according to different climate conditions.
Super Therm® contains 4 unique ceramics to block over 95% of the three radiation sources from the sun (visual light, ultraviolet (UV), and infrared). A minimal application thickness of 1/100th inch (10 mils DFT) effectively blocks heat transfer and repels it from the surface. Super Therm® is a flexible insulating paint with low permeability that can greatly extend the useful life of a roof by reducing expansion and contraction (material fatigue) of the substrate. When applied to a metal surface, it prevents condensation, corrosion, and surface deterioration as well as keeping it cool while in direct sunlight.
Rated as a 20-year cool roof coating by ENERGY STAR® and with documented projects lasting over 30 years, Super Therm® is one of the most effective and longest-lasting thermal heat reflective coatings on the market. We are authorized distributors for Super Therm® and can ship throughout the US.

Super Therm® Developed With The Help of NASA Researchers at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center
Super Therm® is a thin insulation thermal barrier coating, and when tested at temperatures up to 212° F/100°C the coating’s performance was not affected. After continued research, a fourth ceramic was included to block infrared radiation. The result was a high performance 20-year Energy Star rated coating that effectively blocks and reflects 95% of solar heat load from visual light, Ultra Violet (UV light) and infrared rays. Super Therm® can be used for a wide range of industrial, commercial, and residential applications.

- Solar Reflective Index (SRI) .85
- Emissivity .91
- Environmentally-friendly – Super Therm is approved by the USDA for use in and around food preparation areas.
- Water-based, low VOC (67 grams/liter).
- Rated as an insulator by BOCA (U.S. Building Code).
- Blocks moisture and air filtration.
- Class A fire rating (ASTM E84; 0 smoke, 0 flame).
Super Therm® Uses
Commercial, Industrial, and Residential:
- As a one-coat insulation and thermal barrier system on roofs and exterior walls to block solar heat gain.
- To reduce or eliminate condensation on HVAC systems, tanks, spheres, and storage systems.
- To keep shipping containers / ISBU’s (Intermodal Steel Building Units), conex boxes, container homes, or converted work / storage spaces cool while in direct sun.
- As a system over metal, concrete, CMU block, masonry, stucco, and wood to stop moisture penetration and corrosion.
- To insulate air conditioning unit outer casings to prevent heat build-up inside the housings.
- To insulate transportation vehicles, refrigerated containers, reefer trucks, and railroad cars when applied to the exterior.
- To minimize heat and protect electrical/electronic component boxes that are in the sun.
